Venue Hire

With the grounds and various buildings available for hire, Howick Historical Village provides a beautiful backdrop for weddings, photo-shoots, naming ceremonies, funerals, corporate meetings, filming, family gatherings and other functions. 

Register your interest by filling out the Reservation Request below.  An appointment is required to view the buildings.

Bell House

Historic Bell House

Built in 1851, this elegant and charming homestead is suitable for meetings, seminars, exhibitions, weddings, and other functions.  

Bell House has modern conveniences, there are a kitchen and a restroom inside. Tables and chairs can be suppied as required.  Setting up time must be included in your hire period.  All furniture must be returned to the correct storage area and the house left in the same condition as found.  A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required on all bookings with the balance to be paid in full two weeks before the event.  A bond of $200 is also required, this will be refunded in most cases provided the venue is left in an approved condition and the hire time not exceeded.

Due to preservation of the building, STILETTO HEELS ARE NOT TO BE WORN INSIDE. Please include this requirement in the invitations.

Historic Church

Historic Church

The church was built in 1852 and has painted white walls and wooden pews, making it ideal for weddings and other ceremonies.

The grassed areas throughout the village provide a peaceful atmosphere for weddings, photographs and other functions, the pond and rustic cottages providing a lovely backdrop.

Brindle Cottage

Brindle Cottage

Built in 1852, the small cottage consists of one open "L"- shaped room, a connecting room, and a small kitchen.   The cottage's structure provides a practical space for birthday parties and other social events.

Pakuranga School

Pakuranga School

Pakuranga School was built in 1880 soon after education became secular, compulsory, and government funded.  

A full kitchen is available for use by all user groups, making the large hall suitable for workshops, exhibitions, and other functions.  There is also a restroom inside the building.
